When is deadline for the application process?

The deadline for electronic application is October 2, 2007. A paper copy of the application, with other documents attached, must reach the Scuola by October 10, 2007 (see instructions on the ADMISSION page)

Does a Ph.D. student receive funding?

Every year, the Ph.D Program offers funding to at least 4 UE students, and to 1 non UE student. More grants are usually provided by external partners of Scuola Sant’Anna. In this last case the research project is proposed by the external partner and jointly defined with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.

How much is tuition?

PhD students who obtain the grant will grant receive a monthly check as “educational allowance”, as well as a monthly allowance for “external lodging” amounting to a total of € 12,500 per year. Moreover, they have access to the Scuola canteen for the whole duration of the course (3 years). Some other PhD students are admitted to the course, but do not have to pay any tuition.

What is Scuola Sant'Anna?

Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa is a public university specialized in applied sciences, among which Economics, Business administration and Management. Its Engineering laboratories are also famous at global level. For more information, visit the site

How is the application process going to work?

The call for applications is usually published every year in June on the Admission section of the Ph.D website.
The application process is entirely web-based.

Is the faculty from Scuola Sant'Anna?

The faculty of the Ph.D programme is both internal and external. Professors also come from other Italian universities and from abroad.

Can I get in touch with the professors to get more information? What about prior students?
